Welcome to the Graduate School's
Skills Development Programme Website

The Graduate School's Skills Development Programme is open to all graduate research students at UCL. The purpose of the programme is to give you the opportunity to expand your generic research skills and personal transferable skills. These skills are intended to help your research at UCL and also to enhance your life skills and employability.

On this site, you can find details of the programme of practical skills training courses and workshops running this academic year, as well as general information and useful links in relation to generic and transferable skills training. Here you are able to register for training courses and manage your skills training portfolio through the on-line system.

All MPhil/PhD, EngD and other research degree students should discuss with their Supervisor which courses from the Graduate School's Skills Development Programme and any departmental/faculty training courses they need to attend, and then select a range of courses to be taken over the full period of their research.

The Programme is also open to all MRes students; Master's students on ESRC Research Recognised Programmes are also eligible to attend.

Additionally, certain courses are open to other taught graduate students. You can find a list of these courses on the website. Master's students who express an interest in any other Skills Development courses will be placed on waiting lists.

No fees are charged for attending skills development courses.
